What would you do?
I was walking alongside my
4-year-old daughter, holding her hand when I noticed a big, brilliant butterfly. He was yellow and black striped. We stopped. I said, "Oh, what a pretty butterfly!" She pointed her little hand out, extended her index finger, and said with a huge smile on her face, "Bu-Ba-Bye!" I looked over at her with literal tears in my eyes, tears of joy.
You see, my precious daughter has autism.
Up until this day, she had not said a word or syllable in her life. Not "gaga," nor "googoo." My husband and I had started to resign ourselves to the fact that she may never ever speak and now, her first word was "butterfly!"
Our family had been a very long journey of finding non-answers to her health situation. The best thing “experts” could diagnosis was PDD-NOS: Pervasive Developmental Disorder - Not Otherwise Specified. (Doctor language for: "we don't really know what is wrong with her.")
What would you do if you invested years asking for the help of doctors, specialists, and experts. Only to hear non-answers, inconclusive tests, and "She's a mystery."
I went into research mode, and you'll learn more about that in a moment.
Angie, who's incredibly prone to anxiety attacks had a major speed bump hit her life. Her husband was unexpectedly fired at work, her daughters were home for summer break, and she had a lot of work travel going on.
Normally a recipe for disaster, this one simple exercise rewired her brain's coping skills. She was fine.
Brenda, highly stressed, chronically fatigued, and in constant pain with fibromyalgia, gut issues, & always sick.
She was so used to being in pain, she didn't realize there was any other way to live. It took 12 weeks, but she now has more energy, less pain, feels much more positive, and she can relax. Her outlook on her health and life is better than it has been in years!
Here is what I did:
This book is for you if you struggle with any of the following: mental health issues such as anxiety and depression; behavioral problems such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and autism; gut issues such as bloating, cramping, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), leaky gut, and acid reflux; and other mental health challenges.
While reading this book, I invite you to strap in for a wild ride! I'll share my experiences, my daughter's struggles and victories, client testimonials, and highlight the science behind all of this. I will help you understand the importance of the gut-brain connection for overall stellar health!
The alarm bells were ringing loud and clear in my head. I felt a sense of dread in my gut. I knew the slippery slope of getting more anxious and depressed may be just around the corner. When the gut-brain super highway is shut down for construction these are some of the things you may experience!

I geek out over science, information, and alternatives to bring our mental and physical health into balance. I also love my daughter immensely, and since practitioners, my trusted doctors were not able to provide answers or solutions, we did everything to figure it out ourselves.
We sought out alternative medicine, natural methods, and special diets. We systematically removed foods to test for allergies and sensitivities. We tried a plethora of different supplements to avoid harsh prescriptions. We spent years extensively researching, not taking no for an answer, and not giving up. I completed numerous training programs, and became a certified health coach among other things.
While spending so much time focused on her, I neglected my own health.
I developed a struggle with gut issues, gallbladder surgery, and anxiety, but as I watched her heal, I realized that what is good for the daughter is also good for the mother, and changed my life as well.
I wrote this book to be a beacon of hope for others by sharing my story, my challenges, and my life experiences.
I don't want you to struggle like my family did. I am here to help you.
